Kiss my big black ass "Have a Tard!" I am so done with you!
In case you are just tuning in, I am finishing typing this post.... Taking this new awesome computer one of the art directors just gave me, and get in my car to drive off this godforsaken lot never to return! This job is over, I couldn't be more ecstatic, it's Friday, let's drink!
I have at least a week off before I start the next film I'll be workin' on so if anyone out there wants to make plans and meet up, let me know!

On work and frustration.
Well, my issues with this horrible job on "Have a tard" seem to be dimishing with every passing hour. I live more comfortably knowing that this weekend I will be leaving on my grand excursion and that my days here upon my return are numbered. Thank god that this experience will be over soon, I really hate this place. Yesterday I started to actually get giddy at the idea of having a break from the dank corners of this glorified wharehouse in Playa Vista. Over-all: General career malaise.
It has been 3 years since I moved to LA and started working in "the Biz" and I can't say I've made it all that far. I know, I tend to be an impatiant person and my close friends have heard me bitch about my work issues at length. If that describes any of you, feel free to scroll down further and escape this tirade. I just wish there was a faster way to get to my ultimate goal of working in the industry, in the union, on creative interesting work and making enough money to no longer be up to my ears in debt. I want to be further along than I am. I think this long pause has affected my drive. I used to be so passionate and had so much resolve, but now I feel like a bit of a zombie now when it comes to which direction I am headed. I think that is why I decided of all the years to go to Burning Man, this is the first time I really NEED it. I am going with the hope I will be inspired. I am going to allow myself to decompress, let go of some things, experience new things, test my ability to survive in a harsh climate, and in some ways to wake myself up and prove I'm still alive inside there. This trip is my way of recharging my creative battery. It is time to remember where I was 3 years ago and reclaim some of that.
It's too easy to blame LA and say how hard it is to get ahead in the entertainment industry, but when all is said and done the buck stops with me. I think in some ways my lack of resolve and some whifs of my general malaise have kept me firmly planted right where I am. I am determined to change this. I don't want to think back and see a waste of time and energy filling in my memories.

Another day at Have A Tard...
It's days like this that drag on and on without an end in sight, that make me want to scratch my eyes out. The most exciting moments today included printing a bunch of stuff, researching a scene from a certain movie, hint: goes well with fava beans and a nice chianti.. and then spent half an hour basically choking on the over-syrupy juice from too many skittles in my mouth at once. Wow, I really hit the bigtime huh? I'm livin' the dream and making that amazing grad school degree work for me. I think its time to make some changes...it's time to get that portfolio up and in working order while I have access to all these printers, ink and paper, and then find myself the job I WANT.....you know, the job I spent so much time "mastering."
Last night there was a brief moment where this really hit me hard... I have more clarity now that I'm out of my old digs, and more self worth too. I think this year is gonna keep being one of much change in my life, but at this point, that can only be a good thing.

My Zacki Weekend...
Friday:
It was a doozy wasn't it?! The Day was hectic, insane, crazy, whatever decription best fits your mental picture of me running around with a scowl on my face and scissors within quick reach... and then a fire broke out in the hills nearUniversal and WB studios... Here's the view from "Have a Tard"...

After watching this for...lets say 2 minutes, it was back to work and me attempting not to kill everyone within grasp. Since the date that was planned turned out to be a bust, I went out with friends. First stop, per tradition, was "Jumbo's Clone Room." Kids, the place is fucking weird now...I was joking and all, but they basically one-upped me by erecting what appears to be a new "Big Top" on the back porch. Jesus, this was not what I was in the mood for, so we headed over to "New Local Gay Bar" for some drinks. Now children, please tell me i'm not crazy, but when one backs out of a date feigning illness, is it not pretty tacky to show up at the same "New Local Gay Bar" you had agreed to meet at that night? Oh Well, nice to find out someone sucks....er well...is a dick...wait....hmm those are good things...I got it: that they are just an asshole. Ah, good... now that's out. So After a quick lapse, and some shots it was a fun night after-all.
Saturday:
I looked at places with my friends Scott and Claude, we might be moving in together if all works out. We saw a lovely 3 bedroom up in Atwater Village.... This is truly my dream neighborhood! The place was far better than the soulless place we walked through in Echo Park. Saturday night I stayed in....Read a bit of Angela's Ashes which is much better than I imagined. That night it became clear to me how much I need to leave my little Ghetto! Gunshots, a scream two blocks over....long pause for sirens...then Helicopters for forty-five minutes.... Fuck that place!
Sunday:
LA Leatherfest with friends Claude, Billy and Glenn! I wore my Utilikilt, some boots, ya know: my version of Tough Kilted Mo-fo! I had a much better time than I expected to. I had kind of avoided this event in the past, didn't know alot of friends here, too much traffic etc... I'd also maybe listened to too many nay sayers of such events over time... I was glad I went. It was great fun losing friends in the crowd, finding them later after some fun wandering of my own. We also saw a really fun band called Nudist Priest... You get the picture:

All in all, a great weekend... Too bad I had to come back to work on "Have a Tard."

Is it weird?
That there is some guy who has been sitting in the corner of the office for two days, on a laptop, in a lobby chair, with no-one talking to him or paying any attention.... And I have kept myself this whole time from asking who he is or what he does? Normally, being a very inquisitive person, I want to, but we here in our small area have made it a game to try to avoid learning his real purpose here. Working on a film with so many people, it's not that odd to not know all your co-workers, but this is just hilarious. I wonder if he'll be here tomorrow... I did hear him mutter into a phone about a timecard... Ah the stupid mystery!
UPDATE: The mystery was ruined when someone broke and asked him who he was.... Turns out he is one of the famous people's Driver. Wish I could tell you something more fun and mysterious.
