McCain strikes a pose!

Stephen Colbert has set the bar high by creating his McCain Green Screen Challenge: make John McCain interesting! Gotta love this entry!

Barnacle Busters at Pride

Here you'll get a taste of both the evolution of the float I worked on with friends Billy and Glen as well as it in the parade itself. We had a pretty great time. You even get to see a clip of me being a balloon nazi asking people to grab their damn balloons so we didn't have to chase them down the street.

Too Early & Too Late

My good friend Mark has made a great music video for his Friend's new album. Check it out above.

In his words:
"SlowCore Pictures proudly presents the world premiere of "Too Early & Too Late", from Seattle's prodigious Erik Blood. News on the release of his album should be out shortly. This is a collage/ montage music video utilizing the basic storyline from "the Other", as seen through the eyes of a viewmaster. I hope this tale of lost youth, unrealized fantasy and ultimately hope brings you as much entertainment as it has for me."

Gayed out...

What a weekend it was, with all the gayness attacking the city of Los Angeles for LA Pride. I had fun helping my friends Billy and Glen with their small float for their Scuba Club the "Barnacle Busters." Over the last several weeks we had been building, sculpting, painting etc. for the build up to the parade and Sunday was the day to unveil the fruit of our efforts. I promised pictures to a few of you so here it is in all its glory before we hit the parade route dragging that puppy the 1.4 miles of the route.

If you watched, I was the dude in the cowboy hat working as the "Brake" for it holding my trusty rope and trying to avoid hitting any onlookers. Now as you look at the photo, imagine the two little scuba diver guys moving around in an automated circle, and bubbles erupting from the center. We had a nice bubble machine buried in there. I had a pretty great time. Next year, I think I'll stick to just watching the parade and getting drunk. Five thirty wake-up times, hours of standing in formation waiting and loading and unloading trucks full of weird gay stuff isn't really my thing.

Backyard Screening Time Saturday!

Its that time again ladies and gentlemen, the boys of "Gay Gardens" invite you to another fun filled screening night at our house under the stars! This time with a bit more Animal Instinct involved. Its time to hang out, drink up, gasp for air, swim for life, or hide your tracks cause this is the time "When Animals Attack!" Brace yourself, all the greats of the 70's are out for YOUR blood!

Our Feature Presentations:

1.JAWS (1975)
Amity Island had everything. Clear skies. Gentle surf. Warm water. People flocked there every summer. It was the perfect feeding ground. When a gigantic great white shark begins to menace the small island community of Amity, a police chief, a marine scientist and grizzled fisherman set out to stop it.

2.Piranha (1978)
When flesh-eating piranhas are accidently released into a summer resort's rivers, the guests become their next meal.

Mid-night snack:

3.Day of the Animals (1977)
It is a battle for survival as hikers encounter a chemically imbalanced forest.

Again, all who wish to attend are welcome. If you want to come and need directions etc. let me know! As always, films are subject to change.

When: Saturday June 14th doors are open after 7:30 and our features should begin at 8pm.
Where: Gay Gardens in Atwater Village come on in through the gate... Our big white wall is our Screen!
Who: You and your friends are all welcome. The more the merrier at these events.
How: Please bring a lawn chair if you have one, some booze or whatever you want to drink, maybe a snack and certainly a sense of humor. We look forward to seeing you all!
